Hey y'all,
I have read Genesis chapters 1-10 over the past couple mornings.
How about we make Genesis 1-10 the first week's readings? The amount might be a little light, but the dialogue surrounding these passages can be heavy. (Besides it'll give us space to assimilate our format).
I'm planning on being very blunt in my approach. If I think that something is non sensical and seems to hold no water, I will tell you. Then hopefully we can advance our conversations beyond superficial observations. Though I may never get over the fact that the Bible's message has been stymied worlds apart from my own existence. (which was a part of my own choosing) Also I may not always make complete sense. This is a very convoluted area in my mind. (One reason being that my own contact with the Bible, its passages and meanings, have often been through the filtered of others, teachers, preachers or otherwise.) I have not been deliberate in expressing the many thoughts and feelings (that have instead been interred in my memory) over the years listening to sermons and attending services. I would like to start to do so with you.
So unless anyone else has a grand master plan in store they would enjoy testing out on us (or something else they're itching to read) simply post the days/times you are available, if any. So that we can figure out when to chat.
Otherwise we'll figure it out on the way.
Thanks so much,
Jake

Usually Wednesday nights after 6 or 7 are good for me, Saturdays are usually open, and Mondays are as well.
ReplyDeleteMy general schedule runs like this.
ReplyDeleteFree:
Sunday - All day
Monday - Before Noon
Tuesday - After Noon
Wednesday - Before 6pm
Thursday - After 3pm
Friday - All Day
Saturday - Before 3pm
This is technically my schedule, but I have other shifting obligations. If we pick a time within these hours then I will be able to stick with it.

I have a fexible schedule so whenever eveyone else is free will work for me and then i can schedule around it...
ReplyDeleteGenesis 1-10 is also good as far as a beginning point. I dont necesarrily have particular preferences as far as passages are concerned. wherever the group wants to go is good for me.
I look forward to the conversation.
It seems like Saturdays will have to do. Maybe around 1 or 2 o'clock. Hopefully everyone will be up, functioning and ready to converse at that time.
ReplyDeleteI'm still in need of a microphone for my computer, but I should be able to figure it out by next week. Tell me if anyone else want to test out their own video chat capabilities before then.
Keep your schedule open for next Saturday. See you soon!

Are we running on eastern time??
ReplyDeleteI'm running on Central Standard Time. That's why I said 1 or 2 though I should've been clearer. 1 o'clock PM Central Standard Time or 2 o'clock PM Eastern Standard Time.
